Angola - humanitarian situation and organizations
Humanitarian Reports and Resources on Angola
Official Publications from International Organizations and Government Agencies
Humanitarian & Emergency Response
1. ReliefWeb (OCHA)
Central hub for all humanitarian reports on Angola — situation reports, response plans, assessments and maps.
2. OCHA
Humanitarian coordination and situation reports. Angola does not currently have a dedicated active-operation country page at OCHA (unlike Mozambique); the most up-to-date content is therefore concentrated on ReliefWeb.
3. WFP (World Food Programme)
Food security, nutrition, drought and refugee response — including DRC refugees in Lunda Norte and the drought response in southern Angola (Cunene, Huíla, Namibe).
4. UNHCR
Refugees, asylum-seekers and protection — Angola hosts refugees mainly from the DRC, with operations now coordinated from the Mozambique multi-country office.
5. UNICEF
Children, nutrition, health and cholera response. Situation reports are published mainly via ReliefWeb, alongside UNICEF Angola's own page.
6. IFRC / Angola Red Cross
Disaster response — floods, cholera and other emergencies — through the Angola Red Cross, supported by the International Federation (IFRC).
7. FEWS NET
Food security early warning and outlooks, with monthly updates on the southern and eastern provinces of Angola most affected by drought.
8. HDX (Humanitarian Data Exchange)
Open humanitarian data on Angola — population, administrative boundaries, rainfall, health indicators and more.
United Nations System in Angola
1. UN Angola (Country Team)
Overall UN coordination and development in Angola, including UN entities, the Resident Coordinator's Office and the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
2. UNDP
Development, poverty, climate and governance. UNDP works in Angola across four strategic pillars: health, governance, environment, and inclusive economic development.
3. FAO
Agriculture, food systems and rural development. FAO does not maintain a standalone dedicated Angola page; the most current information is available via the UN Country Team page.
International Financial & Development Institutions
1. World Bank
Economic reports, poverty, climate and development — including regular economic updates on Angola and data on ongoing projects in the country.
2. African Development Bank (AfDB)
Infrastructure, economic and social development — including the Lobito Transport Corridor and youth employment programmes such as the "Crescer Project".
3. IMF
Macroeconomic and fiscal reports, including Article IV consultations and financial sector assessments for Angola.
